Something New...

So here's my new piece of lawn equipment.

It is a trimmer.

A rather large and heavy trimmer.

A gas powered trimmer.

My last one was a battery powered one. It worked well with a rechargeable battery, but when I needed a new battery... uh, I couldn't find one.

And I liked that trimmer. It was so easy to use.

But this gas powered one... ugh. It is a bit intimidating.

Cowgirl Cre hyped me up, and told me how simple gas powered lawn gear is to use, and how to mix the gas and oil fuel. I found out I could buy it premixed, so that solves some problems.

It is big, some 6 feet long. So before the end of the month, I want to have figured it out. That is the goal. I am doing a little something in the yard every other day since my lawn dude is on "vacation", i.e., somewhere locked up in jail for who knows what. One of the other locals would tell me what happened eventually).

Right now it's so hot outside and it seems to rain spontaneously. I do not understand this. I may need to get out there at the crack of dawn. That will piss my neighbors off, making all that noise cutting grass and such at 6:30 in the morning. LOL.

I have much to practice on. Look at the fence line:

Yes. That's gonna look right once I attack it with the new trimmer. If I can get that all lined up nice, I am a superstar!

Yep!!

How exciting!

(Not...)

LOL

In Bloom (Too Early)

So...

I was backing out of the driveway this morning, and I saw this.

These are the stairs to my front porch, and the plants on the side.

Those shoots came up in one week, and they are in full bloom.

How beautiful.
And it is only February.

These usually bloom in mid-March.

I wonder what's up with that?

I think it is because of our unusual weather patterns as of late. We've had a couple of 75-80 degree weather, and I think that was just enough time to cause the early bloom.

This climate change is a trip.

Oh... I forgot. According to some folks, there's no such thing as climate change.

I beg to differ...

The flowers in my yard tell a different story...

Of Fallen Limbs...

So this here tree in my backyard... Sigh.

It is a culprit of sorts. If you look at the very center of the picture, you can see where something looks like it broke off.

And it did... this big giant limb.

It doesn't look very big. But it's a good 20 feet long.

I couldn't take one picture of it. I had to take two pictures to get the whole thing.

Sigh.

Pam the Protege was in the back of the driveway, some 4 feet from the tree. Thank goodness the limb didn't fall

Thank goodness the limb didn't fall on the green bootleg house in the picture. Don't want to mess up people's liquor, you know. LOL

This limb... doesn't look bad, but it is a heavy thing. And I need to at least cut it in three pieces to get it up to the street.

So the more I think about it, the more it makes sense to go buy a CHAINSAW.

I have 2 trees in the backyard. I wish I could get those trees cut down... But uh, that's $2400 per tree. Uh, nerp.

I am concerned about these storms, though. Don't want anything falling on my house...

Or that bootleg house, you know.

So we will see what's up. Real soon.
