Holler at Me, Little Girl!

So...

My coworker Ol' Mean Ass Cynthia is walking around with MORE pics of Chayse.

She's a lil' ballerina now!

Get down girl!!

Look here... I surely would love to come to one of your recitals!

Really I would.

I'll skip all that for now.

Check it out: Holla at me in a bout 20 years, when you get down with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company!

Yeah, and hook up them free tickets!

And I ain't coming unless you are in the "Wade in the Water" segment!

And you better be the Dancer holding the umbrella, uh I mean... parasol!

Yeah, that's what's hot!!!

Keep dancing, Chayse. Keep on dancing.

Have a good weekend, ya'll... on purpose!

(Don't worry... I'm still posting this weekend...The 30 day quest continues! lol)

Be VERY Kind to YOUR Behind!

This one right here goes out to the The Green-Eyed Bandit, The Fearless Leader of the Financial Freedom Fighters!

Triple F Possee... ACTIVATE! *Lee throws up the FFF gang sign*

Sometimes, babes... it don't pay to be all financially savvy...

Hmm...

There's one thing that I pride myself on:

Not being all choosy when it comes to toilet tissha.

My sister, Kentucky, however, is not like me. She goes for that expensive Charmin.

Kentucky believes in being kind to her behind!

"I like good toilet tissue, Lisa. While in college, I could hardly afford it. These days, I rather just go ahead and buy the good tissue. For if I don't have anything else, I can always say to myself "Well, I have good toilet tissue!'"

*LadyLee staring wide-eyed at Kentucky, pondering whether to laugh or to pull out a violin and play a sad, sad song*

Charmin is too doggone expensive. I ain't paying 5 to 7 bucks for toilet paper, man!!

But sometimes, Kentucky has to deal with my hard wailings from downstairs.

"Kentucky! Throw down a roll of toilet tissha. Just throw it down on the sofa. I'll get it later!"

She buys it in bulk, you see. I only buy four rolls at a time.

Kentucky very rarely runs out of toilet tissha, but I do remember the last time she did. It was a couple of months ago. She came downstairs and grabbed a roll of my Angel Soft.

She was looking at me sideways for a couple of days, running around mumbling:

"Lisa, you got this cheap toilet tissue. I had to make sure I hadn't cut myself with it. Gotta make sure I get to the store and get me some Charmin."

I laughed at her. "Whatever, babes! Toilet paper is toilet paper!"

*Kentucky cuts eyes at Lee*

So...

I was walking down the paper products aisle at the White people's Kroger over on Moreland Avenue. I saw that Kroger had their generic brand of toilet paper on sale.

It was 88 cents! Even got the words in spanish!

Papel Higienicio!!!!!

That's fancy right there!

I decided to go ahead on and get a pack.

For I am a Financial Freedom Fighter, ya see. I want to save money.

Nevermind that my usual brand, Angel Soft, was only $1.14.

88 cents was a bargain indeed. So good a hot deal that I bought TWO packs.

That was a great buy. Really.

Now, remember awhile back, I'd bought the newQuilted Northern Ultra Plush 3-ply tissha.

That right there, my friends, is the Cadillac of toilet paper. And it costs about 8 to 9 bucks.

That goes beyond "Be Kind to your Behind!"

The slogan for that high class tissha should be:

"**Treat that ASS**"

LOL

Anyway, I bought 2 packs of the 88 cent toilet paper. Later when needed, I opened up a roll.

Rubbed a square of the 1-ply paper between my fingers...

Thought to myself... "Hmmm... this feels like sandpaper. Hmmm."

Balled some up in my hand. Noticed that it sounded like I was balling up a piece of notebook paper or aluminum foil.

"They must've taken this straight from the tree, right after the bark was removed," I thought to myself as I placed a roll on the roller in my bathroom.

Whatever. Toilet paper don't bother me.

Toilet paper is toilet paper, right?

Man...

UGGGGGGGH!!!!

*Lee frowning REAL hard!*

The first time I used that tissha? I was like, "Man! This right here is a bit rough!"

And after using it many more times?

An Oldgirl was UPSET.

Kinda like... "I feel like I gotta go to the bathroom."

DANG!!!!

*LadyLee stomping off to the bathroom*

I was close to delirious by the time I finished off that first pack.

Stared hard at the second pack.

Then one day, I was standing at the entrance to my bathroom, leaning against the doorjamb, REALLY needing to go...

And pondering the toilet tissha issha.

I stared at the toilet.I stared at the toilet tissha.

Looked back at the toilet.

Looked back at the toilet tissha.

My bottom lip quivered.

My eye twitched uncontrollably.

I ran into the living room, cupped my hands around my mouth, and yelled...

"Kentucky! Throw down a roll of toilet tissha. Just throw it down on the sofa, girl. Right now!!!!"

I will never make such a dire mistake, ever again.

So much for being thrifty! I want to be financially free, but not THAT free!

Do yourself a favor: Don't be like LadyLee.

Go head on and buy the GOOD tissha.

Leave the cheap stuff alone.

Always, and I mean, ALWAYS...

Be VERY kind to YOUR behind!

Date Night!!!

So...

My president, President Obama, took First Lady Michelle out on a date.

He promised her, after the election was over, that he would take her to a Broadway show.

They had dinner and attended a show in New York City this weekend.

And the Republicans are having a conniption fit over this.

Republicans... Ya'll some BUSTERS!

Look, you mean to tell me that ya'll getting all pissed over a trip that cost an estimated $75,000.00?

Are you serious???

Ya'll wasn't all mad when Bush spent a third of his presidency on vacation. Ya'll wasn't all pissed about that.

Let's not talk about this war ya'll cooked up. I would like to see how much Haliburton and whatever ghost companies have profited off of this war.
I could go on and on.

(I'm a bit hot over how ya'll put that token Michael Steele in charge of the RNC as some type of a carrot-on-a-stick to draw the black vote. Negroes ain't stupid enough to fall for that. Plus, ya'll treat the man like dirt.)

Ya'll tripping! Just mad! Got the *gas face*

HA!

President Obama: Take your woman out to dinner and a show. I ain't mad at you for keeping your promise. I'm glad to see a black man love on his black woman. It crushes these stupid stereotypes out there about the black race.

First Lady Michelle... You're the first black woman to LEGALLY sleep in the White House.

You're doing this for Sally Henning. Thomas Jefferson should've been taking Sally Henning out on a few dates. Quite a few.

And I am sure your slave ancestors, who built this country, didn't get their 40 acres and a mule...

The cost of this "Date night" don't even begin to cover due reparations.... for 400 years of slavery.

Really.

Take her out, Mr. President.

Again if you want to.

Happy Monday Morning

Good Mernting to you ALL!

(Does that sound like I am ecstatic that it's Monday?)

LOL

Hope all is well with ALL of ya'll!

It is HOT in the ATL.

HAWT!!!

It has been in the high eighties all weekend, and it will be 87 degrees today.

Now that's HOT.

I am doing half a day, today. I am not feeling 100%. As a matter of fact, I wrote in my journal this morning that May was a strange month for me, healthwise. So I am happy to see June. Maybe things will look up.

I think my biggest problem is that I am trying to do TOO much stuff. My days and evenings are tightly organized. I got this thing for making real heavy "to-do" lists, and for some reason, in May, I turned that up a few notches. So, I am dealing with a bit of fatigue, mentally and physically, behind that.

Yes, I've gotten a LOT done. But I have to schedule more down time. Really.

My weekend. I had a pretty good weekend! I had lunch at Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse with one of my favorite book club sistas, Kimmie D. Haven't seen her since last year sometime (we keep missing each other at meetings... sometimes I attend, sometimes she attends... you get the picture). So it was fun to catch up with her, and see what was up.

We always have the most amazing convos. I always walk away with some type of plan for myself.

Food was good... but they had stuffed animals that would start talking for no reason every 15 minutes . CREEPY! But very funny!
We even found out that our workplaces are 5 minutes apart. So you know what that means: we're going to hook up more! I am happy for that!

Wedding. My coworker Crystal got married this weekend.

That was a NICE wedding. Very nice. I took 115 pictures! Very nice, very elegant.

So, congrats to the lovely couple. I will do a more detailed post some time this week. (Uh, no, I won't put up 115 pictures, lol).

FFF meeting. We had a Triple F Possee, i.e., Financial Freedom Fighters meeting on Sunday. I baked up a few dozen of my chocolate chip pecan cookies special for the meeting.

I love this group because one of us ALWAYS have great news. Someone reaches a specific goal, or even pays off something... This is very encouraging to me.

I myself am still creeping along steadily on the financial tip. May was wierd for me. My glasses broke, so I dropped 400 bucks on glasses and contact lenses. I was NOT happy about it. I must tell you, it is difficult to NOT pull out a credit card and charge unexpected stuff like that. I guess I could've dipped into my emergency fund, but I didn't consider this a dire emergency. (And that's what I get for wearing the same pair of glasses for the last seven years.)

So, I am doing my best to develop better financial habits, and I think I am progressing along, thanks to my group.

Difficult to do... but it is doable. I have a very good group, and I have no excuses. None at all.

Getting rid of debt is like eating an elephant: gotta do it one bite at a time.

So, that is my weekend wrap-up...

Now, my buddy, The Green-Eyed Bandit, has been giving me the *gas face* for only posting a couple of times last week. She was at the meeting yesterday. I had to keep one eye on her. She has that evil green-eyed glare thing she like to do. I didn't want her to pick up a chair and knock me upside my head or anything.

So...

How 'bout this, Bandit?

Listen real close, now:

Since your birthday's this month... June 20th, right?

How about I post EVERY DAY during the month of June.

*Blog family GASPS*

I ain't playing, Man.

EVERY. SANGLE. DAY.

30 days?

30 posts.

I can do it!

Just for you, Bandit... and the blog fam, too.

Now, I must warn you: it may be heavy on the Food-for-Thought.

And I can already hear that Original Oldgirl The LBeezy. She whines about how longwinded I am. She's gonna start saying something new: "Leezie. That post was too short. NOT a real post."

Work it out, Beezy!

I think a lot. Too much, really. I could post about 5 times a day if it was just about posting my thoughts. It would be more spiritual stuff than funny... Hmm.

And after I do this... I don't want to hear another word out of you, Bandit.

Not one single solitary word.

And no more glaring. Please. You have eyes like a cat. They glow when the light hits them the wrong way. It is quite disturbing.

LOL

No more emails of "Where's todays post?"

Cut that out, Ma. Not a good look.

So stay tuned for more from the House of LadyLee in June.

Ya'll have a great week... ON PURPOSE.
