Open Letter to Sarah the SCAPEGOAT

My dearest Sarah,

How are you, you MAVERICK? I would give you an intannet fist bump, but ya'll think that's a terroristic signal or something stupid like that. It's a greeting of sorts, like a handshake, but we won't get all over into that.

Girlfriend, I tell you...

I've been watching the news, trying to catch a few glimpses of MY NEW PRESIDENT for the last few days.

But, it looks like all I'm seeing is a bunch of Republican Haters. I mean, some serious Haterade sipping jokers.

(Newsflash: He's your New President. Enough said. Get over it.)

Then, it trips me out that the Republicans are actually hating on one of their own, you of all people, Sarah Barracuda.

Or should I say what you really are:

SARAH SCAPEGOAT

You were even crying on election night. The peoples said you even wanted to say a few words at McCain's concession speech.

(Even I know that a vice president candidate doesn't give concession speeches. Where was your head at, Good Governor?)

They said "No", Sarah, because you were nothing more than a pawn anyway.

And now you are a SCAPEGOAT.

The definition of scapegoat is evident above, but according to Dictionary.com, it is a person or group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place.

The term has biblical origins. It is the name of a goat let loose in the wilderness on Yom Kippur after the high priest symbolically laid the sins of the people on its head. (See Lev. 16:8,10,26)

That's what you are, Sarah Palin.

First you were a PAWN.

That didn't work out.

Now you are a SCAPEGOAT.

You have been blamed. They are dogging you out, saying that you didn't even know that Africa was a continent.

(I hope they were lying about that. If so, you need to look into a news camera and scream "They lying! They some haters!")

Then they tripping out on how you spent up cash on clothes for you and your fam, when they told you to buy only 3 dress suits. You spent 13,000 on makeup. They said you spent 40,000 bucks on your hubby Todd alone.

(I hope they were lying about that, too. If so, you need to take a verbal bat to somebody's head. Really though).

They are saying so much stuff about you, you scapegoat. They are even sending someone up to your place in Alaska to look through your stuff to see what clothes you kept.

(I hope you didn't take any of those expensive clothes with you. If so, you better hide that stuff out in the woods. I would hide it in the place where you stand in the backyard and stare out at Russia.)

I, for one, think it is horrible the way they are treating you. But you were a pawn that didn't work out. And instead of finding and correcting the reasons they lost, they are blaming you. The Republicans need a message, a consistent message. And they didn't and don't have one.

That whole "MAVERICK" thing didn't work. So, they did the easy thing...

Blamed it all on the Scapegoat (YOU), and sent your tail back to the wilderness (ALASKA).

I myself have been a pawn, a token. And I have also been scapegoated. It hurts, it really does. I guess that is why it is bothering me when I watch the news and see them drag you through the mud. It ain't right. I hope you step up and defend yourself.

But you will get over it, and go on with your life. You will go on to do great things.

If I were you, Sarah Scapegoat, I would go back to Alaska, continue doing a good job as you have been doing (your approval is 85%, which is unheard of). The one advantage here is that you are much loved and well liked back in Alaska, and now you are a household name.

You should stomp back HARD on these repubs, your own politcal party with that

PALIN 2012

That's gonna be a PHAT bumper sticker. Really though.

You'll most likely be running against the governor of LA... Piyush "Bobby" Jindal, the first U.S. governor of Indian descent.

You know, your party should be over the whole skin color and terrorist/muslim crap by then. They might be over tripping out over people's names. Maybe they will be interested in issues rather than who they think people hang out with by then, too. His name is being thrown around right now, and it looks like he might be being prepped to run. (And I bet he knows basic world geography, so you better figure it out yourself, Sarah).

You've gained valuable experience in that Good Ol' Boy network. Better remember and come up with a game plan.

And remember, write down the names even, of the people orchestrating the scapegoating of you.
And make sure you have them nowhere near you in 2012.

Ya heard me?

I thought you did.

Have a good day... and send me a recipe for caribou stew, please.

I'ma try to work that out with some beef stew chunks or something...

Much obliged!

LadyLee...That Original Oldgirl.

Yes You Can... Yes You Did... Yes It's Real

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 44TH PRESIDENT
OF THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
BARACK OBAMA

Yes You Can...

Yes You Did...

A black first family will be taking up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Yes It's Real...

I never thought I would see a black first couple...

Yes, it's real.

Congratulations to you President Elect Obama.

I only wish your mother and Grandmother were alive to see this day.

I know they were the very first to tell you, when you were disappointed, when you would fall and scrape your knee or you had a hard time first learning to tie your shoes even...

"Yes you can!"

They are looking down from heaven at you, watching over you, smiling on this day saying...

"Yes he Did!"

I, the Original Oldgirl LadyLee, am proud of you.

You have proved to me that if I can believe it...

I can achieve it.

And there is nothing, absolutely NOTHING, in this world I cannot do.

(Scroll down for the virtual party... You KNOW how I do)

:::UPDATE:::

So with that, I've said all I'm gonna say, and-

*LadyLee turns around as someone yanks HARD on her arm, trying to get her attention*

It is That Southern Black Gal! LadyLee gives her a fist bump.

"What you want, Southern Black Gal?"
"Somethin' good to eat, Oldgirl."
"Uh, this is not that type of event."
"No girl, you know how you grill it down." She stooped down and pulled paper plates and napkins out of a bag. "I brought utensils and all this other stuff."
"Well, in that case," LadyLee said, "let's get our eat out."
"Oh, and I got my Lil' Weezy CD too, LadyLee!"
*Lee frowns hard and snatches the CD from Southern Black Gal's hand*
"Uh, no Southern Black Gal. We'll do without that. Ol' School only at this party!"
LOL!!!
Okay ya'll, Southern Black Gal requested the special cook-out for our PRESIDENT OBAMA!
So you know how I do...
You know I had to pull out the grill.

And you KNOW there's always someone hollerin' about they don't eat pork. GEEZ!! So for them, I grilled up some shrimp and crab!

I cooked up some gumbo...

And for you REAL country folk: My grandma brought over some chittlins!

"Uncle Cre, pull the witch kettle out and fry my first black president right here some fish!!!!"

Yeah, that's good fish right there. Fried outside in hot grease like that?

Shoot, that's GOOD fish.

Got some snow BOILED snow crabs for you!!!

The salmon and biscuits are almost ready!

And for the super health counscious folks, we have all the stir-fry you can eat!

Grab a plate, and Party ON!!!

Oh, and don't forget to leave room for dessert.

Tiny, grab that ice cream out the freezer!

Make sure you have a few of LadyLee's Oatmeal Raisin walnut cookies and Chocalate Chip Pecan cookies.

Michelle Obama wanted to bake a cake, but I told her to not to bother. We got this!

We got the double chocolate coffee infused cake, babes!!

Yeah, you know I got it covered...

"Ain't no party like a OBAMA Party,

'Cuz a OBAMA party don't... STOP!!!!!!!!!!!"

Did You Vote Today??

Did you vote today?

If not, you better get on it doggone it!!!

I voted today. Stood in line for a couple of hours. Read an interesting story during that time entitled "The Lizard Man". Creeped me out a bit.

Neighbors were tripping. Looked like my whole street was up in there, screaming out my gub'ment name. HUMPH! Wanted to yell shut up! I don't want people knowing who I am! Geez!

There was some poll worker that kept coming out hollering at us, yelling "If you see any elderly, let 'em through. Ain't right for them to have ta stand out here and wait!!"

We were like "What the...?" I craned my neck, look all around (as did everybody else). I think we were all expecting to see some joker giving an Old Gal with a walker a hard time. Nothing like that was going on, though.

We all decided that she just wanted to hear herself talk. So we let her ramble on.

But it was an uneventful time. My feet hurt from standing so long. I may have to ditch my treadmill walk tonight.

There are alll kinds of election parties going on. The accounting firm that does my taxes sent out some party email about all the catfish you can eat and 3 dollar daquiris. I was on my coworker, trying to get her to call them folks to see if that catfish was FREE. If so, me and LadyTee and a whole GANG of folk were going to run all up in it!! LOL!!

Of course it was not.

But, I will go home. No parties for me. I'm not even hitting up the crochet/knitting circle ol' ATLien Nikki turned me on to.

I have to work tomorrow.

I will not watch the news.

Things I have to do tonight. Let's see:

Clean up the kitchen. Straighten up my bedroom. Get my clothes and lunch ready for tomorrow. Crochet about 30 squares for LBeezy's blanket (Square count 128, gal!). Do about 1.75-2.0 miles on the treadmill since it is too late and dark to fool around on the track near my house. Take my meds. Feed and water the kitties. Get together the materials to make my Aunt's birthday card.

Probably won't eat dinner... eat an apple or something.

Hmm... life goes on.

But there will be a new president tomorrow.

Don't know who...

I'm neither here nor there with the elections and who wins. I wish SO much that I knew how it felt to be "fired up". I just finished reading The Secret Life of Bees, a novel sat back in the 60s, where one of the black characters had spent MUCH time practicing to sign her name. (You had to sign it perfectly to qualify to vote). When she finally got registered, she was so happy, cheesing down, yelling (paraphrasing here)...

"I'm gonna cast my vote for Lyndon B. Johnson!"

I LOVED that scene. The author really portrayed that woman's glee well.

Boy, I wish I felt like that. But I am weary. I am sick of TV ads, so many that I have them memorized. It's waaaaay too much going on. And when they try to use fear to sway people... wow. You know how I feel about that. Goodness.

I just want it to be over.

But, you just make sure to get out there and cast your VOTE...

Happy Halloween!

Ah yes...

'Tis that time of year.

Halloween

I don't do the Halloween thing, but it's nice to see the little childrens dress up in their costumes, isn't it?

As young girls, we always wanted to be some type of Princess... My coworker Ol Mean Ass Cynthia's niece is a lovely princess indeed...

Oh, she's so cute!! So cute!!!

And then Cynt's daughter Chayse, who happens to be my "permanent house guest Kramer's Mama (the orange cat)... She wanted to be a fairy this year.

Oh... How cute. She's so cute!

Then... we have the Oppressor's some people's worse nightmare...

Little black boy dressed up as Barack Obama...

**silence**

Uh, the young bruh is clean, ain't he? Got himself a little American flag and all...

My heart jumped when I saw that picture. We've been discussing this around the lab for months. Dreams of becoming a famous rapper or a sports star will be, uh, replaced by dreams of being the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

Hmm... Who would've ever thought?

**Lee raises eyebrow and fans herself with her Obama '08 Church fan **

But babes? There is one that takes the cake!!

That Original Oldgirl The LBeezy...

Went to work today as...

The Purple One!! Prince!!

LOL!!! I loved-ed it. THAT made my day!!! LOL!!

Good job, Beezy! You got that workplace spirit! (We have NO idea what that is on our job).
I hope you win the costume contest at work! I really do! LOL!
Well, just wanted you to have a look-see at some of the more interesting costumes I've seen today.

Ya'll have a safe Halloween!!!

Quotes of the Month

I read much around the blogosphere that sticks with me.

You never know when I may pick up something you have written...
Here are a few heavyweight quotes that had me pondering.

. . .from Original Oldgirl LBeezy's post "All Cried Out"

"People settle when they don't think that they can have what they want. People settle when they lack faith or think that their prayers will be left unanswered."

. . .from Original Oldgirl's Serenity 30 post "Remember When"

"Sometimes you have to just take a hard look at yourself and think about what you’re doing or what you want to do. Settling is, well just settling. When I think of settling, I think of accepting something as a means to shut me up. It’s not exactly what I want, but it’s a piece of what I desire. If you really think about it, when you settle you are “content” for the moment, but that only lasts temporarily. The kind of happiness that I am expecting isn’t a one time deal, its for a lifetime!"

. . .from Lovebabz's post "Unexpected Wisdom"

"You create your reality. I used to be baffled by that statement. I could not wrap my brain around it. But I tell you it is clear to me now. Change your mind to change your life. What's on your mind is reflected in your life------that goes for people, things, books, activities. All those things reflects what is on your mind..."

Yeah... that's what's up.

With that said, I think I'm ready for the fall season for real now.

Really though.
