So Fresh and So Clean!
I was in my favorite market yesterday, Whole Foods, and I decided to do something I'd never done...I bought some fresh cut flowers. You know, I've always laughed at people whenever I saw them buying fresh flowers....I would think quietly to myself, "That's stupid! They're flowers, they're gonna die! That's so stupid."And here I was... looking at some Oriental Lilies. (I think that's what they are.)And actually buying them...Wow.They really look nice on my living room coffee table, don't they? And they smell so goooood!!! My living room smells so fresh and so clean! The scent just overtakes the room... Oh my!I tell you one thing... you'll never catch me laughing at folks buying fresh cut flowers again...Because I would only be laughing at myself!
Those are pretty. I don't know why you were laughing in the first place. Flowers just brighten up a place.
ReplyDeleteThose are very nice...I have actually been thinking of buying some...now I will! Thanks Lee!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love fresh flowers. I used to wait until I received them as a gift. Silly me. Now whenever the spirt moves me I can be found picking up a bouquet for myself.
ReplyDeleteI am a true renaissance woman who is taking piano lessons. Though I only have an upright piano, I feel that it is simply incomplete without a vase of fresh flowers [preferably roses or lilies] sitting on the top while I practice. Thank God for Flowerama and their $9.99 per dozen roses. Welcome to the world of the cultured...said the worldly, classy Ms. Just Write Now...
ReplyDeletePS - changing the water every 4 days or so makes most flowers last longer as it slows down the rate of organism growth...from one who buys flowers to you! ;)
Their beautiful, girl. Fresh flowers bring life to a room. Change the water regularly and add a bit of baking soda to it. They'll last longer. I miss that. They wouldn't do much good on the ship, though.
ReplyDeleteI love fresh flowers. I usually buy them on Farmer's market day. I get a better deal than the local flower shop.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until summer arrives and the sunflowers are available. They don't have a fragrance, but they are so pretty.
Your flowers are very pretty.
We've had a similar experience. I used to always think people who purchased flowers at the store were such posers!!! Just wanting attention...Until I bought a batch for the house. It's now a payday ritual.
ReplyDeleteThey looked really nice on your coffee table. I'm going to bite.
;-)
those are GAWGEOUS
ReplyDeletei used to do the same thing...laugh at folk who buy flowers for their home. now i've gotta rethink that, cuz every now and again i want flowers on my table.
Oldgirl,
ReplyDeleteI love Whole Foods too, even though some of their produce is a bit outrageous! I stick to the meats and bread. My sister is a fresh flower person, but I am too practical for them, even though they look nice and smell nice, I keep thinking, I could buy something practical with the money. Also, hubby would freak! Who's going to pay for that?
I am glad they brought you joy!
