So "Celie" is in town...
Silver Sparrow is now out in paperback, and she's on a whirlwind tour.
She text me and has somehow coaxed me into coming to the ATL History Center tonight to see her give a talk with Pearl Cleage.
I don't think she would take No for an answer.
I didn't even bother to say, "No man, I will catch you next time. I just want to go home after work. I'm tired, man! NO!"

YAY! Glad you are going!
ReplyDeleteWow! Tayari & Pearl Cleage, I wish I was still in Atlanta. Both of my favorite Atlanta writers. Enjoy.
ReplyDelete@Play Mama A... Yes. Even going home to change and get myself somewhat together. It should be pretty interesting. And a chance for me to stop brooding. Go figure.
ReplyDelete@Remnants... They did a "Conversation" appearance together back in 2006, I believe. It was VERY good. So definitely worth going. Wish you were here too!
I am so jealous. I love both those ladies.
ReplyDeleteDear Dr. Lee-- I was just over here catching up on your excellent blog and I saw this. I had to smile. You right. I wasn't taking no for an answer, although I am sorry we didn't get time to talk.
ReplyDeleteYou are blogging less frequently, but the posts are all very meaningful. Thanks for sharing. It helped me to read them.
