Freestyle Fridays

TGIF, ya'll!!!

Thank God it's Friday!!!

Since I have to post everyday for the month of June, I will make this a "Freestyle Friday", i.e., posting whatever is on my mind right now. And we will keep it SHORT.

Work. Today is pay day. This means that I ain't even thinking about much. At all. HUMPH.

There are no supervisors here today. The Director is not even here. Therefore, my coworker Ol' Mean Ass Cynthia is in charge of EVERYTHING! She is Lab Director for a day!

In other words

"The inmates are running the Asylum!!!!"

LOL. Those are her words. That's what she told the director. LOL!!!

We're trying to figure out how we can order up a whole bunch of ish we can need... in one day. I told Cynthia to find a credit card laying around and take us ALL out to lunch.

We should tare something up today. LOL!!!

12:30 pm. Today is D-Day. This is the day of Digitization. Big brother is turning off analog and turning on Digital.

I hope ya'll got your boxes, some cable, some satellites... something! Or you gonna be in the dark!

A beating my head against the wall moment. The Republicans have been running around misquoting the Latino Judge Sotomayor, who's up for election to the Supreme Court. They have been saying that she said that a latino judge is better than a white male judge.

Now here is the actual context of what she said:

She said in 2001: "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." The remark was in the context her saying that "our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging."

Sotomayor's comments came in a lecture, titled "A Latina Judge's Voice," that she gave in 2001 at the law school of the University of California, Berkeley.

Enter the republicans, with their propaganda...

And here comes that token Michael Steele.



"God help you if you're a white male coming before her bench."

All this injustice, lynchings and what not, of black men from slavery all the way up to the civil rights era, and even now...

And he twists his mouth to say something crazy like that!!?

I wonder if he has any older black relatives still living. Apparently not.

All I know is if I would've said something like that, my Grandma, my Auntie, my Mama, somebody who went through having to drank out the colored people's water fountain would IMMEDIATELY break a switch off a peach tree and whip my a**.

I, in my lifetime, would've never thought that I would hear that come out of a black man's mouth. Never.

I am pretty much convinced that this man is not merely a token of the republican party.

He is a Stepford token. They created a robot that looks like a black man...

... and programmed him to say STOOPID stuff.

Really.

Ya'll just alienated negroes and latinos in one swoop. What a way to diversify a party. HUMPH.
